Installation, Fondazione Donà dalle Rose, Venice, September 2024
Intimità Pubbliche is a temporary, site-specific installation created for the Venice International Film Festival 2024, and hosted for one month in September by Fondazione Donà dalle Rose at Palazzo Donà dalle Rose. The project was conceived and realized in collaboration with fashion designer Giorgia Andreazza.
The work explores the duality between outward communication and inner care. Composed of three anthropomorphic figures—“omini”—draped in garments made from found and discarded materials, the installation reflects both a desire to connect with others and a need to preserve one’s own sense of identity with intimacy and affection.
Positioned across two rooms of the palazzo, each figure adapts to the architecture of the space, becoming a subtle yet expressive presence. The piece investigates themes of reuse, external perception, and the invisible narratives that shape how we present ourselves in public. Only the outside of the forms is visible—evoking the delicate boundary between personal intimacy and public display.
