Selected as one of the winning artists of the sixth edition of Artefici del nostro tempo (Creators of Our Time), a competition promoted by the City of Venice in collaboration with the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Fondazione Forte Marghera, Vela Spa, and Venis Spa.
The emerging artists’ pavilion is aligned with the theme of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition “Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective” curated by Carlo Ratti (on view from May 10 to November 23, 2025.
Omino in Vetro / Omino in Movimento is a study on the cultural function of glass. In this work, glass is approached not merely as a functional material, but as a medium possessing its own autonomous identity—independent from human use or utility.
Positioned somewhere between painting and sculpture, the piece embodies a visual rhythm and an eye-thought interaction that reflects the allure of the unfinished, and nature as an ideal. While I am deeply fascinated by and engaged in the study of traditional glassmaking, I deliberately chose to work with raw, slender rods—materials that evoke a subtle historical irony. They recall origins, intellect, the trace of action, and the tempo of expression.
This work is part of an ongoing artistic research into human relationships and forms of expression—an inquiry that unfolds between the Silk Road (Venice and the Arab world).
